Choye Masqqala Celebration

Choye masqqala is also part of Yoo-Masqqala which is considered as the farewell of maskala. It is celebrated at Daramalo Wereda choye kebele, where Mt Guge is sited. Unlike the others in Choye area Maskala is celebrated in harvesting season i.e October to December. The festival is opened by local elders blessing of God for His trusty contribution in keeping peace among society. It goes on by slaughtering, horse riding competition, Soffe and other cultural rituals. All ceremonial events are concluded by local elders’ praying of God to make the coming year healthy for families, villagers, farmers, merchants , students and in general for all societies.
