Chosha stands for the name of kebele and huge market place. Chosha kebele is found 40Km far from Gerese, which is administrative town of Bonke woreda. Chosha masqqala festival has been takes place at Chosha market place every year. The festival is celebrated in cooperation with nearby kebeles to Chasha kebele. These are Gazeso, KaloGagula, Kalolaka, Kole Kanchame, Kole Zale, Kacha Kashaso and Kacha Senga kebeles. People from these areas are gathered together at Chosha kebele to celebrate masqqala every year. The celebration under go with different events for seven days starting from Thursday to Wednesday. Each day has its own unique event. These events are:-Kalo, Sofee, Sidata, xonfe, Horse riding competition and Kanso. After all, what makes it special is that people believe that the celebration renews them and it was the end point for whatever happened to them (happiness, sadness, conflict, war, etc) in the social life and it is used as cultural calendar to take the New Year.
